Looking at different shrines, churches and cathedrals I've always enjoyed the way the architecture has been put together and they also show a lot of history behind. As well as looking at the architecture, the art work inside these buildings can tell a story which can also be done through a game play narrative, maybe through a cut scene where it shows just images. Religious art can be shown as guide through the principles of a religion can also lay out a new game world.

Supernatural entities

Supernatural entities is something than none of us yet fully understand so there is lots to be researched on this topic. These images describe people from the real world interacting with entities from another realm showing a connection between the two worlds. Although having separate realms would be interesting it would be complicated and games like FEAR use entities in the real world, who had one one of the most impressive and terrifying entities and although she only appears as a little girl, she can deal some gruesome damage to make an all outstanding game which give some inspiration on how to use an entity in a game.

Meaning to life

This idea is more to do with discovering something which religions delve deep into and give purpose so I need to look into games and other areas of research that use this idea. The term myth is referred to as a false story and as different cultures have their own theory on this, its still up in the air. I could make a game that creates its own theory on life to make a unique narrative.

Agnosticism

Agnosticism is something that a lot of people have decided about themselves because there not sure what to follow/believe in. There are types of agnosticism which are strong, weak and apathetic. Strong agnosticism is having a fixed believe that no one can know whether god exists or not, weak agnosticism is not knowing whether god exists but maybe one day if there is evidence we can find out. Apathetic is view that no amount of debate can prove or disprove the existence of god and if god does exist, they do not appear to be concerned about the fate of humans. This idea could be a game where players have to collect evidence to support their arguments.

Ethics

Ethics (moral philosophy) is a way of systemizing wrong and right behavior and defines good and evil. I thought of an idea where the game determines who you are as a person whether you fall to the side of good or evil by going through a range of questions that solve your human morality. Types of ethics are meta, normative and applied. Meta means how their truth values can be determined through logical means. Normative determines the moral course of action and applied means whether a person is obligated to do an action in a specific situation. All of which can be used in this game idea where each type is used to allow the player to carry out an action.

Final decision

As all these topics come from religion and have a religious journey narrative of self discovery, I've decided to research more into supernatural entities and the connection between life and the afterlife. I'm going to focus mainly on the art more than mechanics as the art can tell a story which is my main strong point.

I will need a good understanding of these topics through research and collections of art that tell a visual story.
